A tale of two falling in unlikely love, Moulin Rouge! The Musical shares with us a classical tale of romance in the equally romantic locale of Paris, France. At the center of Montmartre, Christian, a passionate writer who moves in Montmartre with the goal of achieving his dreams, stumbles upon the would-be love of his life and club entertainer, Satine, in the famous club Moulin Rouge. Christian and Satine then choose to keep their developing love a secret, as another wealthy benefactor sets his sights on Satine as his woman.

Created as an offshoot that was staged more than 10 years after the 2001 motion picture, Moulin Rouge! The Musical’s early challenge was to take this known narrative and giving it a modern touch. The masterful approach of the production, just like the 2001 movie, was to share the secret romantic affair with never heard of renditions of modern pop arrangements. The obvious solution was to expand the musical numbers and truly make it into a “a creative peek into the 1900s”, as the production team name it. The outcome, as seen on the actual stage, was a melting pot of impressive medleys, mash-ups, and renditions. Though the show stays true to several of the late film's beloved tracks including Lady Marmalade, the hit musical now performs current songs from more recent years including Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, Beyonce’s Single Ladies, and Britney Spears’ Toxic performed in unique arrangements.
